This site was also introduced on the video page of this website. You can access hundreds of videos here, all of which have special ESL listening exercises and pronunciation practice. You have to register, but it's free, unless you choose to upgrade. |
VOA Learning English
The VOA stands for Voice of America. It is funded by the American government, and it broadcasts news all over the world from an American perspective. VOA Learning English is the ESL site produced by the VOA. It offers vocabulary help and audio with scripts at various levels There are also podcasts if you want to listen to English audio on your smartphone. |
English as a Second Language
This site has far too many advertisements, but there are many good features here if you learn which parts are useful and which are not. |
Activities for ESL Students
This site, unlike the one above, has absolutely no advertisements! There are hundreds, maybe thousands of quizzes, activities and crossword puzzles available here. The guy responsible for this site, Charles Kelly, lives in Japan. |
Randall's ESL Cyber Listening Lab
This site has hundreds of original videos with quizzes and activities for each. You can choose the level and the topic you're interested in. If Randall is your kind of guy, you should be able to make a lot of progress using this site. |
Learning Chocolate
This site has a childish appearance, but the concept is quite good for learning vocabulary, spelling, and pronunciation. Good for beginners and low-intermediate users. |
Vocabulary Games
This site is not necessarily for ESL, but there are vocabulary games for various ages, so games go from easy level to intermediate level. |
British Council
This is a 4-skills site that lets you practice speaking, listening, reading and writing. There are also grammar and vocabulary exercises. The accents on the videos and audio are British. You'll learn a lot of English if you get to know this site!

This site is different than other sites on this page because it is made to help people study English in order to become American citizens. It deals with situations an immigrant might face while living in America. It's a free course for learning English. You can also get an app for this site. |
