I used the most popular radio app Tune-in. This app allows you to listen to sports, music and news. I chose music this time, but unlike BBC Radio, I can listen to almost all music genres with this app. I chose rock from 13 music genres. I was listening to the rock radio was the radio personality introduced the band before the music started. Radio personality talks not only about the band but also about the composition and lyrics of the music and favorite points. Radio was the most difficult to understand I've ever introduced. It's very interesting and exciting to learn how the locals feel the music because the native people are talking about it. However, the slang appears in the conversation, it's difficult to pronounce, and the speaking speed is fast. but as I continue to listen to the radio, I get used to the speed at which the radio speed. [Which radio station did you listen to? There were DJs, right?]
I learned to use 'you know' a lot when natives speak. This is a word used when words are jammed, such as 'isn't it?' and 'what if' mean for the assumption that an event occurs. I recommend listening to it many times as it can be listened to repeatedly.

I usually listen to the radio using Radiko and AuDee. This time, I will introduce TuneIn Radio, which is a popular overseas radio app.
TuneIn Radio combines live sports, music, news, podcasts and radio from around the world in one app, allowing you to listen to over 100,000 radio stations worldwide. Unlike Radiko, there is no time free [?] and there are no area restrictions, so you can listen to it for free at any broadcasting station in any country. Therefore, I think the strength is that you can listen to the broadcasts of radio stations around the world in real time or time-free {?].
I listened to BBC Radio 1 and learned one word. It's "properly". It means "befitting things on the spot," and "適切に、きちんと" in Japanese.
I was surprised that Japanese radio mainly talks and music only plays about 2 or 3 songs, but overseas radio talks for a short time and music is the main content. I found it very difficult for me to listen to overseas radio because they speak so fast. However, since the playback speed can be changed, [Show me this; I didn't know it.] it will be a little easier to hear if you listen slowly. I think it's a good app for language learning because you can listen to radio in various languages as well as English.

These days most people listen to the radio less and less, and I don't think many of us use radios. However, it is something I am familiar with, because I listen to traffic information and music playing in the car. I think this is the best way to improve English listening skills. The radio allows you to concentrate on listening because there are no words or images, plus it helps you to use your imagination. The radio app I use is English Radio. It has a variety of stations, including American, British, and Australian. I am familiar with British and American English because I often see them in movies and TV dramas. However, I am not used to Australian English, so I listened to Radio Australia on the app. This station allows me to listen to the conversation between the DJ and the listeners, so I can hear the local Australian English. A characteristic of Australian English is that the "i" is pronounced as "oi". At first, it is not easy to hear, but your ear will get used to it by listening to the radio. I think it is more important to be exposed to English than to understand the meaning.

I listen to Japanese radio every Saturday, but I have never listened to English radio, so I installed Tune-in Radio. It has a lot of radio stations, so you can find one you like. But there are too many and it may take time to find a good one. However, the app will display recommendations from the contents you recently listened to. It is very useful when you don’t know which station to listen to. If you like it, you can put in My Library and listen to it anytime, anywhere.
I listened to The Beat. There is a little Dj talk, but mostly, they play the music that everyone knows, like‘’Bad Guy’’ by Billie Eilish, ‘’Shape Of You’’ by Ed Sheeran and so on.
The Dj talk was very fast and short,, so I couldn't really understand it. But I think it is good to improve listening skill and it is fun to listen if I can understand. So I will use Tune-in Radio and listen to The Beat.
I learned two new words. First I learned ‘’fashionable’’. Its meaning is "trendy, stylish" and 流行りの、流行の in Japanese. Second I learned ‘’currency’’. It meaning is "money, coinage" and 通貨、貨幣 in Japanese.

I don’t usually listen to the radio and this is my first time to learn English on the radio. I downloaded an app named Tune-In this time. And the station I used is BBC Radio 1. On this station, there are a lot of pop songs. There is also a little DJ talk. While listening to this radio, I felt a few things. At first, this is a radio that native people use and listen to, so DJs speaking speed is very fast like normal native English. And second, there is no script, so it’s a little difficult for English learners like me because I have to understand the content only by voice. However, there are also some benefits to listening to this radio. That is if you continue to listen to the radio every day, your ears will become accustomed to the English language itself even if you don’t understand what the DJ is talking about. Also, you can listen and know a lot of songs that you didn’t know by listening to this radio. For this assignment, I feel that learning English on the radio is an advanced level of learning English. I think it’s a little difficult for me.
I learned two new words from this radio station. The first one is “consistency”. This means “conformity in the application of something, typically that which is necessary for the sake of logic, accuracy, or fairness” and “一貫性” in Japanese. The second one is “prevail”. This means “prove more powerful than opposing forces; be victorious” and “勝つ、優先する” in Japanese.

I rarely listen to the radio, and I had never used the radio to learn English. This time I installed and tried the radio app TuneIn Radio, and I listened to the radio station called 181.fm
You can listen to songs by Soul and R&B on this station, and you can also listen to DJ Talk. There are no subtitles on the radio, and the DJs speak English very fast. You need to understand the content only by the audio, but i think it is an opportunity to improve your listening skills. Not only can you get used to native English, but you can also learn about the songs that are played at the station. Also, the radio app allows you to listen to most stations for free, and as long as you have a smartphone, you don't have to choose the time or place, so I think it's a good tool that you can use easily.
I learned two words from the DJ talk on this station. The first is "progressive". It means "進歩的な・革新的な" in Japanese and "developing or happening gradually" in English. The second is "delicate". It means "優美な・繊細な" in Japanese and "small and beautifully shaped" in English.

This is my first time to learn English on the radio. I used an app called TuneIn Radio to listen to the radio station called The Edge.
This app supports radios and podcasts from around the world, especially in the music genre. It also includes more than 100,000 radio programs worldwide, including live sports, music, and news. The Edge is a Top 100 Pop hits radio station from New Zealand with DJ talk. There are also commercials. Although the DJ talks are difficult to understand because of the speed at which they are spoken, I think it will improve my listening skills. It is also an opportunity to listen to hit music and learn about famous songs I may not know.
I found two words from The Edge. The first is “fancy”. It means “the faculty of imagination.”, and “空想” in Japanese. [I think this is incorrect.] The second is “massive”. It means “large and heavy or solid.”, and “どっしりした” in Japanese.
I found this way of learning English difficult, but I felt that by listening to the radio a lot I could improve my English skills. Also, I will continue to listen to the radio because there were songs that I learned for the first time.

I have listened to the radio since I was a child, and I still listen to it occasionally. When I was a child, I used a portable radio, and now I often listen to radio using an app called Radiko. But this time, I will introduce an app called Tune-In. This app is great for listening to what's happening, listening to music, and listening to sports news. If you go to the sports section, you can not only see sports news, but also soccer, baseball, and so on. Similarly, if you look at the music section, it is divided into anime songs, classical music, and music for children. You can choose by region or language. I listened to BBC World Service News, and I think it's very easy to listen to. You are also recommended similar channels. You can see the content you've listened to recently, but if you forget what radio you've listened to, you can leave it as your favorite and listen to the radio in the library right away. Also, in the search section, you can find out the related radio as a result of your own research. Not only can you listen to channels of various genres, but you can also listen to them even if you close the app. From now on, I would like to listen to various music and listen to the news on the radio.
I learned two words from the radio app [Which station?]. The first word is "politics". "Politics" means "政治" in Japanese. It is an activity that governs the country. The second word is "assassination" It means "暗殺" in Japanese. It's about killing people from the shadows. It shouldn't happen.

The application used this time is Tune in. I have been using this app since I was in high school because it is good for studying English and also as background music while cleaning or driving. This app has three features: first, you can listen to a variety of radio stations from around the world; second, there are a variety of genres, from music to news to sports; and third, you can search by language, so it is suitable for learning English as well as other foreign languages. One radio station in particular that I use for learning English is Breaking Through, which is DJ'd by Kristin Rowe-Finkbeiner. I recently listened to it about LGBTQ and the coronavirus vaccine. This radio station is very easy to listen to and very easy to pronounce, making it ideal for understanding correct pronunciation and learning to listen.
The word we [Who is 'we'? And should I ask you this every week?] learned this time is "engaged in~". "Engaged" is commonly used to mean something like "planning to marry" (婚約する), but with the "in" added, it means "to beemployed in a job" (仕事に携わる/従事する). An example sentence could be "Many top-level researchers are engaged in nanotechnology.(多くのトップレベルの研究者が、ナノテクノロジーに従事している)

I would like to introduce Simple Radio. This radio app is free to download. As the name suggests, it is very simple in operation and notation. I used to listen to surfing wave information and Fm Yokohama when I was driving, but I had never listened to foreign radios before. I took this opportunity to download Simple Radio and found a lot of stations. The app presents both foreign and local radio stations. I am interested in American popular music, so I chose American Top 40. It is very enjoyable to listen to the top 40 songs that are popular in real time. Also, the DJ talk makes me feel as if I am listening to the radio in America, whereas I usually listen to the radio in Japanese. Also, native speakers introduce the songs, so it's a great way to practice listening skills. On Japanese radio, I usually only listen to the same songs that I like, so I found this app to be a nice change of pace. It is easy to use, and when you enter a word you like, many related radio stations appear, and there is a wide variety. You can also save your favorites among them. There is also a "juke box" which is great for listening to music. You can also find your favorite genre of music. And you will surely find your favorite music. What I recommend most is the ability to play in the background. You can listen to it while doing something, so you can easily enjoy the radio. I learned to “stay up late” with this radio. It means “夜更かし”in Japanese.

So you can listen to radio from various countries, which is useful for studying English. There are many kinds of stations, so you can listen to what you are interested in. If you want to change the speed, press the button on the bottom left and slide right or left to get faster or slower.
I listened to BBC Music. I learned two words from this. The first one is "exist". It means "存在" in Japanese and "have objective reality or being" in English. The second one is "recession". It means "不況" in Japanese and "a period of temporary economic decline during which trade and industrial activity are reduced, generally identified by a fall in GDP in two successive quarters" in English.
This is my first time listening to an overseas radio station. It was difficult to understand the English because the native speaker was speaking. But I think it's a very good way to study. Because listening to a lot of radio using this app can help me understand native speakers speed and get used to pronunciation. From now on, I want to use this app to listen to foreign radio and use it to study English.

I sometimes listen to the radio when I fish, but I have never used the radio to study English. I installed and tried a radio app called Turn-In [?]. And I listened to a radio station called The Zone Sports Network. The radio station includes live performance, DJ talk and podcasts. You can hear the live performance of sports on this radio station. Also, you can listen to DJ talk while playing popular music during the live performance. It's a live performance, so I think it'll be easier to understand English if you listen to it while watching games. The good thing about Turn-In is that the radio doesn't stay still when you close the screen. I can listen to the radio while fishing, so it's a very grateful function. Another good thing is that the time and content of the radio are written.
I learned one expression at this radio station. It’s “obviously”. It means “clear, apparently” and “明らかな、明白な” in Japanese.

I'd like to introduce the streaming radio application TuneIn Radio. TuneIn Radio is a popular streaming radio application all over the world. TuneIn Radio has as many as one hundred thousand radio stations. The biggest charm of this application is that you can listen to the world’s radio. In this application, you can listen to various genres of radio such as news, sports and music. Also, you can search for radio stations by region and language so It’s recommended not only for learning English but also for learning other languages. I like listening to music on this application. I always listen to the same songs on Apple music, but I liked it because I can hear songs I didn’t know before on TuneIn Radio. Most radio stations have short DJ talks and play a lot of music so you can concentrate on the songs. Moreover, this application has many other useful features such as sleep timer and background playback. This application is the most suitable for background music when you’re working such as studying and driving.
I listened to BBC World Service News and I learned some new words. The first word is “inspire”. This means “鼓舞する、感激させる” in Japanese and “stimulate” in English. The second word is “transform”. This means “変身する、変換する、変換する” in Japanese and “convert” In English.

I listen to the radio because my favorite artist has a weekly radio show. However, this was the first time I had listened to foreign radio. I downloaded an app called Tune In to listen to international radio. This app supports a variety of radio stations of different genres. The app also features podcasts, and you can adjust the speed of the podcasts. You can listen to missed broadcasts, rewind and fast forward. The radio station I listened to this time was BBC Radio 1. This is a popular radio station in the UK and you can listen to popular tunes.
I think listening to foreign radio station is a good way to learn English. The reason for this is that there is DJ talk between the songs, where the DJ introduces the song and proceeds with the radio program. It is difficult to listen to the radio because it is broadcast to native speakers, but I can enjoy listening to the music while doing it, so I can make it a habit to listen to the radio and gradually improve my listening skills. So I want to improve my listening skills while enjoying the radio.

I used a radio app called Tune In. We can listen to local radio, sports, and language-specific radio as well as nationally renowned radio stations. On the home screen, the system will introduce popular radio stations and podcasts as recommendations to users. We can listen to NHK World and BBC News so we can stay up to date on the latest news. If you find a radio station or show you like, you can add it to your favorites. If you download it, you will be able to listen to the same broadcast repeatedly. Select the radio you want to listen to and you can listen to it in less time. In addition, you can move the content back or forward by 30 seconds, so if you miss the content or are not interested in it, you can adjust it to your liking. Even more convenient, you can change the playback speed, set alarms and display the time, so you can customize each one for your convenience. However, since it is a radio, We cannot watch it with subtitles, so I recommend using it to get used to listening.
I listened to BBC News Podcast. I learned the word “reveal”. It means “明らかな” in Japanese and “evident, elucidate” in English.

I used to listen to the radio in my car when I was little, but I don't listen to the radio now. After taking this class, I installed an app called Radio Net. I listened to a British music radio called BBC Radio 1. I can listen to popular songs and DJ talk on this channel. If I listen to music on the radio instead of just listening to it through a music app, I think it will help me study English even a little. DJ talk is fast, so I can't understand it for listening, but I think I'll understand it by listening to it repeatedly. It's great to be able to listen to foreign radio for free. And there are various genres of music and news. It's good to be able to choose my favorite radio genre. If I like that radio channel, I can put it on my favorite list. However, radio apps are tough without Wi-Fi, so it's best to listen to the radio app at home. With this as an opportunity, I'm going to use the radio app from now on.
I learned two words. The first is "sensation". It means "feeling" in English and "感覚" in Japanese. The second is "curious". It means "inquisitive" in English and "好奇心が強い" in Japanese.

In this article, I would like to summarize the advantages and disadvantages of learning English by listening to English radio using the Tune In Radio application First, to summarize the features of Tune In Radio, this application allows you to listen to radios from various countries and is categorized by radio genre, making it easy to find what you want to listen to.
I thought that the radio could be used for learning by dictation, where you write down what you hear in English, or by listening to a variety of music on the radio, learning about the music, and looking up the words and meanings of the lyrics. However, when dictating, it is not possible to check the answers, which is a disadvantage.
This time, I learned about a song called "House on Fire" by a singer-songwriter named "Mimi Webb" on a music radio program called Fresh West Midlands and studied its lyrics. [Yuito, does Fresh West Midlands have DJs? I asked you to listen to a station that has DJ talk. That's why I recommended BBC 1 for pop.]
I then looked up the words "honest" and "respect" in the lyrics. The word "honest" in English means "正直な〜、誠実な〜" in Japanese, and "suspect" in English means "疑う、怪しむ" in Japanese. [English definitions?]

I don't usually listen to the radio, so I installed a radio app for the first time for this task. I used an app called Radio.net. I listened to BBC Radio 1, BBC Radio 2 and Today's Hits Radio. These stations are playing pop music and rock music. This app is good because I can quickly find the genre I want to listen to by searching for the genre. This app is fun because I can listen to radio from all over the world. There are more than 10,000 broadcasting stations registered with the app. If there are so many stations, I may be worried about which station to choose, but there is also a category called "Top 100" that summarizes popular broadcasting stations, so I don't have to worry about it. However, it was very inconvenient that there were no subtitles. It was hard to understand the lyrics. It took a bit of time since advertisements sometimes appear. [Could you hear DJ talk on all of these stations?]
I found my favorite song on this app. It's "Thousand Miles" by The Kit Laloi. I learned the word "evade" from this song. The meaning is "escape or avoid (someone or something), especially by guile or trickery." The meaning in Japanese is "回避"する.

There are many benefits to studying English using radio. First, you can listen to timely topics on the radio. By listening to that information, you can learn the situation of the city. And you can find and listen to your genre you are interested in. You can acquire listening skill because radio is not using any abilities other than listening. But I feel that you need a certain level of English ability to understand English radio. I recommend this study technique for advanced English speakers.
I listened to FUV Music from 90.7. I learned two words from this radio. The first one is "young-blood" and "若々しい、若い人の考え”in Japanese. The next word is "sedated "“穏やかな、落ち着いた” in Japanese. This word is used like this “She maintained a sedate manner.”

I listened to 2MFM klls on Radio Net. The station broadcast comes from Sydney, Australia. When I think of radio, I have the image of audio news broadcasts, but this station is different. It plays not only news but also recommended songs. There are old songs, and there are many songs that are popular these days. Justin Bieber's songs are also played, so it can be listened to by a wide range of ages.
The good thing about this radio is that you can listen to it anywhere with your cell phone, and it's all news [?] so you don't get bored. Basically, the music is playing, so the concept of radio being difficult disappears. It's fun to talk about it again. It's fun to listen to it. It's a very good radio because I think listening to it will improve my English ability.
I learned two words from this site. First, I learned ”handmade” . The meaning of this word is “made by hand, not by machine, and typically therefore of superior quality”. The meaning in Japanese is”手作り”. The second is ”shape”. The meaning of this word is “the external form, contours, or outline of someone or something.” The meaning in Japanese is “形”.

I used the Tuneln Radio app this time. I tried listening to sports and music radio on this app, and I found that there were many topics in all genres, and since there were several stations in sports alone, I thought I could choose the genre I liked best. There was a wide range of music genres, from children's to maniacal, so I think you can have fun if you choose what you are comfortable listening to. However, I found it difficult to keep up with the speed of the native speakers on the sports radio, and since it was a radio station, there were no scripts or subtitles, so I found it very difficult to keep up. As for music radio, I tried listening to Beach FM, which has music playing in addition to the DJ's speech, so I could understand what the DJ was saying, even if it wasn't perfect. Also, the song selection was very good because many of the songs matched the titles of the songs. I didn't listen to the radio genre of just talking because I thought it would be difficult.
After listening to the radio this time, I realized that it is very difficult to listen to a native speaker without subtitles or transcripts. I think that learning English by using the radio is more enjoyable when you have a good knowledge of the language. Tuneln Radio is expensive to use, so if I can find a free one, I will give it a try. [? - No, Tune-in Radio is free. I sent you a LINE message about this.]

I haven't listened to the radio very much. Of course, I have never listened to English radio, so I didn't know what kind of system it was. The good thing about radio is that you can choose your favorite genre of music and listen to it anytime, anywhere. However, if you don't have a Wi-Fi connection, you'll need a lot of gigs. I listened to BBC RADIO 1, a pop music station with DJ talk. It was difficult to understand the English because there was no translation. I listened many times to hear various broadcasts. I learned a lot of words I didn't know yet. DJ talks sometimes use simple and familiar words. I couldn't listen to pop music very long because the tempo was so fast. On the radio, you can listen to a variety of music, including pop music, jazz, and classical music. There is also an introduction by a DJ on the radio, so you can demonstrate your listening skills. I decided to try not only pop music radio but also various genres of radio. [This paragraph is disorganized.]
I learned the word "overlap" in a DJ talk. This word means "extend over so as to cover partly." The meaning in Japanese is ‘’重なる’’.

The application I used this time is Tune In Radio. In this radio app, I listened to the radio of a broadcasting station called BBC Radio 1. This application allows you to listen to radio from various countries. If you want to study English, you can listen to British and American radio, and you can also listen to local radio. On the radio, DJs and hosts play the news and music in a very cheerful atmosphere and way of speaking. When they play music, they talk about who is singing and how the music was made. You can also find your favorite music because you play a wide variety of songs. I also talk to people listening to the radio over the phone and broadcast the contents of the call on the radio. [Really, Kouichi? You did this? Who did you call? What did you talk about?]
The words I learned on this radio are "pandemic" and "connect." "Pandemic" means (全国的に広がる世界的に広がる,流行の) in Japanese and means "the spread of infectious diseases." "Connect" means "繋げる、接続する" in Japanese. For example, this is a word used to combine A and B that are not connected.
Until now, I have not heard much about radio. However, I think it would be very helpful to find music that I like to study English. Also, the host is very good at speaking, and English is easy to understand, so you can listen to it for a long time. Therefore, I would like to actively listen to English-speaking radio.

I used TuneIn Radio to listen to BBC Radio 1 and WFUV and KCRW. The main part of the radio is that music is played and sometimes the DJ speaks. The music genres are pop and eclectic and rock. The radio stations are located in the UK and the US respectively, so the language used is English. Listeners can learn as they listen to the English songs and the DJ's English speaking. The DJs don't speak for long, but they can give their thoughts on songs, news, and much more. Unfortunately, subtitles are not available for live broadcasts, so it is hard to tell if I am hearing correctly. The advantage of radio is that you can easily listen to it while you are doing something. The songs are pleasant to listen to and the conversation is not jarring. You only have to listen and it is a great companion to your work.
I learned some words from the radio. The first word is "perennial." It means "lasting a very long time, or happening repeatedly or all the time" and "長期間続く" in Japanese. The second word is "gobsmacked." It means "to be so surprised that one is speechless, as if one has been slapped in the mouth" and "びっくりした" in Japanese.

I have just downloaded and used the Tune-In application. The first thing that struck me when I downloaded the app was how easy it was to get started right away. I thought I would have to enter my name and other information with an app like this, but I was able to listen to the radio easily and immediately.
I also found it easy to set the language of the application. There were also many local channels to choose from. There were so many radio stations, from major ones to local ones. I really liked the drive mode and the ability to create your own library of favorites and downloads.
The one I listened to was BBC Radio 1. I listened to a song by Olivia Rodrigo called "Good For You." I have listened to other songs, but I found this one to be particularly good since the song was very ironic.
The radio channel had a little bit of a DJ talking in between the songs, so I never got bored. I liked this app so much that I thought it would be interesting to listen to it on a regular basis, not just this time.
I learned the words "unaffecte" and "emotional." [So tell us what they mean.]

I used bbc 1 radio and bbc 1 tr. [Kiseki, I'm not going to correct these capitalization errors. You will have to do it in November. - Kevin]
I listened to a lot of pop music and hip-hop music that I didn't know. There was a scene where I felt it was good to use it for a while. The first one was very good as a training and travel companion. It was perfect because it was Western music, not English conversation. The second good point is that it also supports background playback, so it was good to be able to listen to the radio even when using other sites and apps. I also felt that it was a great point to be able to listen to the artist's live concerts for free. I listened to Billie Eilish's live performance. These were good points. But, there were some bad points. I found the operation method difficult. Also, I found it difficult to understand the titles and artists of the songs that were playing. However, I thought it was very good content in terms of getting used to English. [169 words]

I used Tune-In Radio and the radio on my car's navigation system. I listened to BBC Radio 1 on the app Tune-In Radio and AFN on the radio attached to the car's navigation system.
BBC Radio 1's main focus is music, and this radio is aimed at young people and plays popular songs such as the UK charts. The news is also said on a beat, so it is very fast-paced.
AFN is a government television and radio broadcasting service provided by the U.S. military to those stationed overseas. AFN radio plays a wide range of music from the 50s to recent hits, from rock to country to soul.
I think the biggest advantage of learning English on the radio is that you can listen to English in your spare time, so your ears become accustomed to English. Since the radio is spoken by native speakers, the English you can learn there will give you an idea of the phrases and other information used by native speakers.
My skimming time is while driving, so I was listening to BBC 2 [2 or 1?] on Tune-In Radio and AFN on the navigation system.

I used the tune in app to listen to the radio for the first time in a while. This app has no area restrictions, so you can listen to radio from any country, which is highly recommended. You can listen to the radio of the country you want to listen to, which makes it easy to study. It is a selection that is recommended not only for jazz stations but also for jazz listeners who also play jazz. [?] I listened to WWOZ, a jazz station based in Louisiana, in the southern United States. Known as a radio station rooted in the New Orleans scene, it has close ties to local and local musicians and is super-pushing those musicians, so listen to super-rich New Orleans music. I also heard Dublab, an internet radio station based in LA, USA. It is also known that Carlos Nino was involved, with Jeff Parker acting as a DJ and LA artists appearing. It is recommended for those who are interested in the LA scene around Brainfeeder, Stones Throw and International Anthem. [?] * All genres include non-jazz. [?]
I learned the word "appear" through this task. Apper [?] is 現れる in Japanese.

I learned English on streaming radio using an app called TuneIn Radio. I listened to Tune In Radio for as long as I had time. Compared to Japanese long-speaking radio, American radio took less time for DJs to speak. I think it's nice to be able to listen to a variety of music on American radio. With a radio app like this, you can always listen to the radio anywhere you have time. The radio song I tried was BBC Radio 1. This radio station plays a variety of pop music. I like listening to music, so I find it convenient because I can enjoy listening to music I like. [110 words]
I learned English on streaming radio using an app called TuneIn Radio. I listened to Tune In Radio for as long as I had time. Compared to Japanese long-speaking radio, American radio took less time for DJs to speak. I think it's nice to be able to listen to a variety of music on American radio. This time I used a radio app called Tune-in and a station called 90.7WFUV.org. You can listen to DJ talk and songs from various artists on this radio station. I think the ability to check artist information, lyrics, and concert schedules while playing a song is amazing.
There are various types of songs such as jazz, soul, and alternative, and I found some new songs that I was interested in. Also, there were many songs that were selected with a calm feeling overall, and I liked the DJ talk with a calm atmosphere. In addition to introducing artists, I found it interesting that when I became a member of this radio station, I could get discounts at restaurants and museums.
There are two new words I learned from this DJ talk. The first word is "industry". In Japanese, it is called "業界" in the sense of economic activity related to the processing of raw materials in factories and the manufacture of products. The second word is the "headline". Its meaning is the headline at the top of an article or page in a newspaper or magazine, which is called "見出し" in Japanese.
I used to only listen to Japanese radio stations, but I like this radio station, so I would like to continue listening to it.

I don't usually listen to the radio because I can't listen to the same radio. Then, if I'm not interested in the songs, I can't skip songs. However, I think this assignment was a good opportunity, so I listened to the radio many times. I used Tuneln Radio.
The radio stations I tried are BBC Radio 1 and 2. In both the DJ talks a lot for about 10 minutes. Sometimes the DJs are talking to other people. On BBC 2, the DJ was talking about the Corona virus and masks and so on besides talking about music. From this, I could understand what people were interested in abroad. I think listening to the radio is difficult because the DJ's talking speed is fast. However, I can rewind the radio so I can understand the content better.
I learned "temporary" from BBC 2. It means "continuing for only a limited period of time" and "一時の" in Japanese.
I think internet radio is convenient because I can listen anytime. But depending on the stations, the DJ talks so long. If you want a little DJ talk, I recommend the station The Edge. Unfortunately, if I found my favorite songs, I can't know song titles. However, if I use a PC, I can know the song title by clicking on the pop-out player.

This is my first time to learn English on the radio. I downloaded an app called Radio.net and listened to some of stations. I listened to BBC RADIO 1 and KIIS 1065. These stations are playing POP music.
BBC RADIO 1 is a British station, so the DJs speak British English. There is a little DJ talk and some other news announcements. Of course, there is no subtitle function, so it is difficult to hear and understand. I have never heard most of the songs that were played, but I listened to many of them that made me feel happy.
KIIS is a Sydney, Australia station. The DJs speak Australian English, and it was easier to listen to than BBC RADIO 1. When I listen to this station on the Radio.net app, the name of the current song and artist is displayed on the screen, so I can look up and view the lyrics while listening to the song. I can listen to many of my favorite songs on this station, so I was never bored.
I learned the word “expand” from BBC RADIO 1. It means “to become larger in size, number, or amount, or to make something become larger” and “拡大する” in Japanese.
Learning English on the radio is a good way to improve my listening skill. This app can be played in the background, so you can listen to it anytime while cleaning, cooking, or studying.

Although I had never used a radio app, I learned that listening to English radio is a good opportunity to improve listening skill and find new words or new favorite songs. Then I tried the streaming radio app TuneIn Radio.
My favorite music stations are KIIS 1065 and The Edge. KIIS has a lot of DJ talk and the song choices are excellent, so KIIS is my most favorite music station. They mostly play pop genre songs. The Edge has DJ talk and also commercials. I had never had an opportunity to listen to English commercials before, so I listened to them while having fun. They play hit songs.
When I listened to the DJ talks, I found new words. First is “horrible”. It means “terrible things you see, taste, or smell, or about the weather” and 恐ろしい (osoroshii) in Japanese. Second is “anthem”. It means “a formal or religious song” and 讃美歌 (sanbika) in Japanese.
All the station's DJ talks are too fast, but TuneIn Radio has the function that can go back or forward 30 seconds so I could try to listen again. Nevertheless, If I can't hear the song title, I listen to the music very carefully and search for lyrics on the Internet. Listening to DJ talks and music lyrics carefully will be helpful for improving my listening skill.

I listened to English radio for the first time using the TuneIn Radio app. I mainly listened to BBC Radio 1 and WFUV. I think WFUV is very good. The music is pop and jazz. When I listened to the radio, two DJs, a man and a woman, were having a conversation. The female DJ speaks slowly, and I think it's easy for people who are not good at English to listen to her. However, I found it difficult to study English by listening to the English radio. It might be good for people who want to study using only English. I think I could get used to listening to native English speakers. Listening to DJ conversation can be a good learning experience if you are willing to take the time and make the effort.

I don't usually listen to the radio, but for this assignment I installed Tuneln Radio and listened to BBC Radio 1. I don't usually listen to Japanese radio or English radio because I usually watch videos or see media with images, but I was able to listen to music that I don't usually listen to.
The best thing about radio is that you can listen to music and stories of your favorite genre for free. In addition to music, you can also listen to sports and news. When I listened to the radio, I found it very difficult to listen to the DJ talk in English. I was listening to the radio, and since there were no subtitles, only the words I knew came into my head, and I couldn't catch new words.
There is one word that I heard on the radio. The word is "crash". The meaning is "to have an accident in a car, plane etc by violently hitting something else." In Japanese, it is called "衝突する".
I thought that if I not only listened to the radio every day, but also looked up English words that I didn't understand, the number of English words I could hear would increase.

Anyone with a smartphone can easily listen to international radio. There are many radio stations, so I can choose the genre I like and know.
If anyone listens to the radio on their smartphone, they have to find an app that suits them. I chose and used TuneIn Radio, This app broadcasts English-speaking radio as well as Japan radio. I can register my favorites, so it’s easy to listen to favorite radio stations. On the home screen, I can search by categories such as “Language”, “Region”, “Sports”, and “Recommended”.
I tried BBC Radio 1. Perhaps because I wasn’t listening to the radio at that right time, only music was playing all the time. So I couldn’t hear the words easily and couldn’t learn any new words.
I feel that learning English on the radio is not suitable for me because I didn’t have the habit of listening to the radio, I feel that it would be difficult even in Japanese, but it was more difficult when it came to English radio, and I couldn’t have fun working on it. Also, the lack of suitable stations with DJ talk was disappointing.

I don’t usually listen to the radio except when driving with my family with Japanese radio on. I had never listened to English radio before this assignment. The nice thing about radio is that you can choose your favorite genre of music and listen anytime, anywhere. You use less data if Wi-Fi is connected. I listened to BBC RADIO I which is pop music with DJ talk. There are many words and phrases that I don't know, so I think I can study English by listening to it every day.
I use my PC more often than my smartphone, so I listened to the radio from my PC. I listened to BBC RADIO a little every day to learn words and phrases I didn't know. I learned the phrase "get down" in "Sounds of the 90s with Fearne Cotton". When I looked up this phrase on a translation site, it had various meanings. Since the DJ was talking, I think it probably means "dancing." It means "ダンスをする" in Japanese. Next, I learned the phrase "brand new" in "Radio 1's Best New Pop with Mollie King". The meaning of this phrase means "completely new" and “真新しい” in Japanese.
We can listen to various types of music on the radio, such as POP music, jazz, and classical music. There is also an introduction by a DJ on the radio, so we can exercise our listening ability. I'm often at home so I would like to take advantage of free internet radio when I'm working on something.

I listen to Japanese radio on a daily basis, but this is my first time listening to English radio. I installed the TuneIn Radio and English Radio apps on my smartphone and tried them. TuneIn Radio is a simple app, so it was very easy to use. Also, if there is any channel you want to listen to, it’s convenient because you can listen to it just by searching. With English Radio, you can select by country on the top page. However, I didn’t use it much because news was the main topic. I tried to listen to some stations, and my favorite stations are BBC Radio 1 and 92.9 THE BEAT” These stations have music and DJ talk so I felt they were easy to listen to even if I could not understand all the words. 92.9 THE BEAT''s female DJ talks fast and it's difficult to to understand her. I recommend BBC Radio 1's DJ talk. I think that 92.9 THE BEAT has more music than BBC Radio 1.
When I was listening to BBC Radio 1, I noticed British pronunciation. I noticed the UK accent when the DJ said “can’t”. I learned the difference in British pronunciation before so I was able to notice it. I think it is fun to listen while looking for differences in pronunciation and dialect.
When I was listening to the radio, there were words I didn’t understand. For example, I heard “undeniable”. It means “definitely true or certain”. This word appeared in a Katy Perry song. I learned the meaning of “playful” too. It has two meanings. First, it means "very active, happy, and wanting to have fun." Second, it means "intended to be fun rather than serious," or "showing that you are having fun. In this radio," I thought the word was used in the second sense.
I found that listening to English radio was a little difficult, but I think I can get used to the way native English speakers speak. Also, it’s fun to listen to UK morning radio when it's evening in Japan because there's a time difference between Japan and the UK.

I installed two streaming radio apps on my smart phone. Tuneln Radio and Radio. net, but I mainly used Tuneln Radio because it was easy to use and had no ads. With this app, I chose two radio stations. I listened to “BBC Radio 1” and “90.7 WFUV.org”. “BBC Radio” is streamed from the UK and “90.7 WFUV.org” is streamed from New York City in the USA. I listened to them at home where I have Wi-Fi. I am spending most of my days at home now due to COVID-19.
The DJ’s talk was fast and difficult for me, but there was one song I knew. The song is “Stupid Love” by Lady Gaga. She has been my favorite artist since I was a high school student, and I know some of her songs. The most impressive lyric for me was “I would battle for you (Even if I break in two)”. I checked the meaning of the lyrics. I found this song sang a feeling of “you can fight with love”. I felt her strength from it.
I learned some words from the radio. The first word is "key worker." It means “a worker who helps to coordinate a patient’s care and welfare, etc.” in English, and 主要労働者in Japanese. The second word is "dispassion," it means “coolness” in English, and 冷静 in Japanese. DJs said this word when they talked about the Olympics.
I thought that listening to the radio is good for getting used to English. I could do it anytime and anywhere and find music and artists I didn’t know. I had never listened to the English radio before, so this was a fresh experience for me. I will keep listening to streaming radio from now on.

I installed the apps TuneIn Radio and Radio.net on my iPhone. Also, I listened to English radio on these two sites in the same way on a PC. I used them to listen to English radio stations, but it was easier to use Radio.net. On Radio.net it was easy to understand that radio stations were divided by genre and popular radio stations were presented in the rankings. I listened to the radio for about two weeks mainly using Radio.net. I listened to it on the train from home to and from university, but when listening to the radio without Wi-Fi, it takes a lot of data capacity, so I often listened at my home.
I felt the difference between Japanese radio stations and English radio stations and I was surprised at English radio. Japanese radio stations have longer talk time than music time. What I felt when I heard English radio stations is that American DJs have less time to talk and longer music time. On various radio stations, the DJ introduced basic music information and songs, but the DJ’s talk was very fast and difficult, so I couldn’t understand well. I felt it was important to listen to English many times and get used to it.
When I was in my room for about two weeks, I listened to my favorite hip hop radio station in particular because I like the western hip-hop music genre. My favorite radio station is Hot 108 Jamz. This radio station is very good because I can listen to popular songs that I know, and even artists I don't know. I can listen to my favorite hip-hop songs. I also heard 181.fm-The Beat and Today's Hits-Hitsradio. I listened to a lot of songs on the radio, and if I had a song that I liked, I checked the singer's name and the song title. By listening to this radio, I was able to know various artists and songs. I knew the song "Bodak Yellow" by artist Cardi B on a hip-hop radio station, so I downloaded it from Apple Music. I will continue to listen to Western music on this English radio and Apple Music, and I would like to learn English pronunciation and as many words as possible. Actually, I thought that listening to radio felt like using a music app. I learned that I can find new favorite songs because new songs that I don't know are introduced. Also, the speed of English spoken by The DJ was very difficult to understand. I felt that listening to the radio DJ's talk and music was not enough to understand English, so I need to be able to study more English words, English grammar and English conversation and understand more English meaning by myself. From now on, I will continue to learn English by listening to English radio and English news and will do my best to understand English.

Kobayashi - 4/27/2017
I listened to music on TuneIn Radio. I found that I could keep calm when I listened to the radio. During the last two weeks, I’ve been doing job hunting. The music helped me two or three times. However I lost my earphones, so I’m going to buy new ones as soon as possible. It was nice listening to the old music, but the radio station I chose didn’t have a DJ. I will find a new station to hear DJ’s talking. I also listened to Jazz music. It didn’t have any voices either.
I listened to three stations. 60’s Folk, 50’s and 60’s Blues Hits and Jazz Hits. My favorite station is 50’s and 60’s Blues Hits. That station had famous music like "I Want You Back." That station’s music is more difficult to listen to than 60’s Folk, but I just enjoyed it.
I found two vocabulary words. The first one is "strumming." This is what you do when playing the guitar by moving your hands across the strings rythmically. The second one is "dewfall". "Dewfall" means morning water drops on the grass. I thought listening to music is good opportunity to see new words. I think people don’t use these words very much, so I could only learn them through listening to music.
I wrote before, I will find some radio stations that have DJs. They may be modern radio station. I don’t listen to modern music with regard to English songs, but I may get used to that soon.

Listening to radio by using Tuneln Radio was an interesting experience for me. I usually don’t use radio apps in daily life because I like listening to music which is made by my favourite artists. I found two difficulties about listening to radio with radio apps.
The first difficulty is the conversation pace. I listened to several stations (ABC Adelaide, Armidale Community Radio, BBC Radio 4) and I feel that the Australian radio DJs tend to talk faster than the British radio DJ. In addition, the BBC pronunciation is clearer and easier to understand. It’s just my opinion and feeling and I don’t want to criticise either country. The local DJ at the Australia station had a strong accent. Some Australians say /ai/ when they pronounce /ei/. The second difficulty is there are no pictures to help me understand what they say. No pictures makes English hard to study. As a result, I realise pictures are important and helpful for understanding.
I learned several new words. One of them is “composer”. It means “作曲者” in Japanese and "a person who makes music especially classical music" in English. The next word is “hospitalize”. I thought its meaning was “entering a hospital”, but then I checked a dictionary. It means “入院させる” in Japanese and "to enter to a hospital" in English. It’s usually used in the passive form. The third word is “dedication”. It means “献身” in Japanese "working hard to accomplish something" in English. I heard this word when they were talking about romantic love. It might have been an interesting talk after I fell sleep.
I will try to continue listening to radio. Listening to radio will help me to improve my listening skill and imagine the meaning in a sentence because the DJ doesn't stop talking when I miss some words. And if I can get a script, radio may become a more interesting way to study English.

I downloaded the app Tuneln Radio and I used it for two weeks. I have never used a streaming radio app before. When I rode the train, I listened to it. Previously, I had listened to Japanese radio in my house and in the car, but I listened to overseas radio for the first time using Tuneln Radio. With Japanese radio, the DJ often talks, and there is not a feeling that music is playing all the time. My mother said that on Japanese radio stations, they talk too much. On the overseas radio, the DJ rarely talked, and music played all the time.
I listened to ".977 Today's Hits" channel on Tuneln Radio. I didn't understand the meaning of two words. The first was "Rude" of MAGIC! Rude means "impolite" (失礼な). The second is "chainsmokers" which is the name of some performers. Chainsmokers means " people who smoke continuously" or (タバコを立て続けに吸う人) in Japanese. The music sometimes stopped when I used Tuneln Radio and it was a little hard to use. I enjoyed listening to music. I thought that my vocabulary would increase if I listened to the radio more. I want to continue using it from now on.

I used "Jango" and "TuneIn Radio" on my Android, and I watched "WatchMojo" on my PC. I found some things I enjoyed, such as new songs, nice songs, various trivia, interesting programs and so on. I think "TuneIn Radio" is so useful for everyone, especially, people who study English. We can choose the topic (Sports, Music, News and so on). I listened to two programs related to "Music" and "English" several times on the radio. If you want to find "Music" or "English", use "Search". Then your choice will appear on your screen. If you use this app, you'll improve your English listening ability and increase your English vocabulary. The Jango app is only music (no conversation), but I think we can learn a lot of English vocabulary words and expressions from song lyrics.
I learned lots of English vocabulary words. For example, I learned "define." It means "to describe something correctly and thoroughly"; (~を定義する、~を限定する) in Japanese, Next, I learned "humble". It means "not considering yourself"; (謙虚な) in Japanese. Before I started listening to radio, I couldn't follow conversations easily, but now it's becoming easier because my English listening ability has improved. I sometimes do dictation and shadowing to further improve my listening skills.
I think radio is a good way to study English because we can practice listening and increase our English vocabulary. However, radio has some weaknesses. First, we can't see subtitles. Also some artists use slang or expressions with dirty meanings, so be careful.

I have listened to music for the last two weeks using the app Tuneln Radio. I didn't have any radio apps in my phone before Kevin talked about streaming radio. There are three things that I noticed while using Tuneln Radio. First of all, we can choose many stations of music from many countries on Tuneln Radio. I searched for Australian stations because I studied abroad in Australia when I was sophomore. Then I found “Travelradio Australia”. This channel talks about famous places in Australia and interesting information for travel in Australia. When I listened to this program, they were talking about “The Rocks” in Sydney, with background on The Rocks. Another time, I could learn about a place called“Cape York” for the first time. Before I listened to this station, I didn’t know “Cape York”. Cape York is located in Queensland, Australia. It is the northern most tip of Australia.
I also listened to “.977 Today’s Hits” from America. I like listening to US pop music so there were many songs that I know. “Allegiance” was the vocabulary that I learned from “Never Be Like You” by Flume. It means "loyalty" or "commitment to a superior" (忠誠、忠誠さ). I also checked for Flume. I was surprised, because he is a famous Australian electronic music producer.
In conclusion, I think listening to radio is good way to study English for non-native speakers of English. We can learn a lot of new vocabulary, phrases, and information. In addition, even if you can’t understand all the songs and conversation, to keep on listening to English is very important for your brain and ears. If you don’t have time and money for learning English, you can enjoy and listen to music from the Tuneln Radio app, So let’s try it.

I tried to listen every day for as long as possible while on the train. I discovered the difference between Japanese and American radio. The difference is the talking time of the DJ. On Japanese radio, most DJs talk about many things for a long time. But on American radio, the DJ talks for a short time. I didn't know this difference, so when I listened to American radio at first, I was surprised and felt that the time to talk was not enough. However, I thought a good point is that people can listen to many kinds of music on American radio, so if I have radio apps, I can listen to many kinds of music anytime and anywhere, like on the train and in my free time.
I chose "Tuneln Radio" and I enjoyed listening to music. A Channel I tried is ".977 Today's Hits". This channel plays many kinds of music. For example, Justin Bieber, Daft Punk, Edward Maya, Flo Rida, Katy Perry, Ariana Grande, Beyonce and so on. I usually listen to Japanese pop songs, but "Teenage Dream (Katy Perry)", "Dangerous Woman (Ariana Grande)" and "Crazy in love (Beyonce) are very popular songs, so I knew these. It is good for me to enjoy listening to many kinds of music and not only Japanese pop songs. So I listened for the next music with eager anticipation while listening to that channel on Tuneln Radio.
I tried to follow what the DJ and singer said, but I couldn't follow them because they speak so fast. However, I got only two new vocabulary expressions from radio. I learned "you make me happy" and "corporation". I didn't know these expressions so I checked them out in my electronic dictionary. First, "you make me happy" means that "Your feeling is changed to happy by me". For example, you become happy if I give you a birthday present. Second, "corporation". It means "company" (株式会社). I thought probably that the DJ talked about the information of a company in a spot commercial when I caught "corporation". I couldn't clearly follow what the DJ and a singer said that time, but if I listen to Tuneln Radio all through my life, I will be able to follow their conversation.

As usual, I listened to the local Japanese station, Chofu Morning Light & Breeze on my way to school. I do this using my TuneIn Radio app. The first thing I noticed was that I heard the word jikoku (current time) again several times. I learned this word before, but hearing it again many times helps me to remember it. One of the topics the announcer talked about was a marathon that was held in Tokyo. He said that an elderly woman completed the race, and he said kansou shita. I looked it up in my Japanese dictionary app and saw that it meant "ran the race." Next, when talking about the weather forecast, he said mikomi, which means "anticipated." This is used to say that rain or cloudy weather is expected. In another news story, about vandalism that occurred at a temple, he used the word jisha, which means "temples & shrines." When I listen to these news reports, I usually understand the basic topic, but there are words and expressions I don't understand. I think writing the expressions down and looking them up is very helpful for my understanding, especially when I hear the word multiple times, like with jikoku. |

I listened to NHK World Radio Japan on Tuneln Radio. This app has a lot of channels. I didn't know that I could listen to radio on a smart phone.
NHK World Radio Japan offers news. I'd never listened to radio news in English before. Also, I was thinking it would be too difficult for me before listened to it. When I started to listen to this radio, I couldn't understand what they said at first. I listened to the same news many times, I realized I became able to understand vocabulary and the news. It was interesting for me and I am able to improve my English skills, because if I can catch a new vocabulary word, I can check it on my smart phone soon. It will help me increase new words. Also, if I stop studying English in the future, it will help me keep my English skills. I think it is an easy way to keep it, so I'll do this.
Here are some new vocabulary words. The first is silicon film (シリコンフィルム). The new android robot Aiko Chihira appeared in a department store in Tokyo. The robot's surface was covered with silicon film. It seems to be like real human skin. I've heard silicon in Japanese, but it was the first time for me to hear the word in English, so I couldn't catch it at first. I listened to it many times carefully and realized the different between English pronunciation and Japanese pronunciation a little. If I have an opportunity to say 'silicon' in English, I'll be careful of the pronunciation.
Next was South China Sea (南シナ海). China is building runway in that place. When I heard this vocabulary, I could catch the word, but I didn't understand the meaning. I considered the word before checking it by using a dictionary, and I could guess the meaning.
I realized that listening to radio in English is enjoyable and it helps increase my English abilities. It became a necessary thing for me to keep my English skills!
