Welcome to the Lifelong English seminar!
Kevin has retired (定年退職) and this site is no longer active. It is an archive of what took place between 2015 and 2022
After three years of university, your English language learning has only just begun! This fourth year seminar will prepare you for a lifetime of English language study and enjoyment. You will strive to find English resources, both physical and online, that will help you master English in the coming years and over the rest of your life. In class, you will read from traditional paper resources (books and magazines) as well as online articles and blogs. You will discover interactive online English study sites and TOEIC practice sites, explore available Internet reference sites (dictionaries, thesauri, encyclopedias, collocation sites, translation sites, etc.), and access other sites of practical or topical interest. You will make presentations about books and sites you find and enjoy to others in class. You will contribute to the class website (the one you're reading now!) devoted to useful and fun resources found on the Internet. You will maintain a blog on a topic of your choice. Finally, each of you will write a 2,500 word graduation report (thesis), detailing what resources worked best for you in your quest to master the English language. Gambatte!
